How to Use the Name Generator
Getting a new name takes about two seconds. Here is how it works, step by step:
- Pick filters if you want them. You can choose a fur color, a personality, a theme or one of the five Clans: ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan or SkyClan. Leave them all empty for a totally random mix.
- Tap the generate button. You get ten names at once, each on its own card.
- Look at all four forms. Every card shows the cat's kit name, apprentice name, warrior name and leader name, plus a short note on what the suffix means.
- Keep the ones you love. Tap copy to grab a name, or tap the heart to save it as a favorite. Favorites stay in this browser, up to 50 of them.
- Bring the cat to life. Tap "Make this cat" on any card to open the warrior cat oc maker with that name already filled in.
Want to show a friend? The whole batch is saved in the page link, so when you share the URL, they see the same ten names you did. Nothing to sign up for, and everything runs right in your browser.
How Warrior Cat Names Work
In the Warriors series, a Clan cat's name grows up with them. The first half, the prefix, stays the same for life. It usually comes from the natural world or from how the cat looks: a color, a plant, an animal, a sound, the weather. The second half, the suffix, changes when the cat reaches a new stage.
- Kit: A newborn gets the prefix plus "kit." A cat with the prefix Ember starts out as Emberkit.
- Apprentice: Around six moons old, a kit begins training and swaps "kit" for "paw," becoming Emberpaw.
- Warrior: When training is done, the cat earns a warrior suffix that says something about who they are. Emberpaw might become Emberheart, Emberstorm or Emberwhisker.
- Leader: A cat chosen to lead the Clan trades the warrior suffix for "star," so the leader form would be Emberstar.
Warrior suffixes are the fun part. Some point to looks, like tail, pelt or stripe. Others point to personality, like heart for a big-hearted cat or song for a cheerful one. That's why every card in this warrior cat name generator explains its suffix, so you can choose a name that fits your character instead of one that just sounds cool. Ideas for Using Your Name

- Write fan fiction. Follow one cat from kit to warrior and use each name form as a chapter milestone.
